Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 30, 2026

MultiviewTV ("the App") is developed by Bastián Véliz. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App collects, how it is used, and your choices.

1. Information We Collect

The App collects limited technical and usage data to improve stability, performance, and the overall experience. No personal information is collected, and no data is linked to your identity.

a) App Interaction Data

Anonymous usage events are sent to Firebase Analytics (Google) to understand how features are used. This includes:

  • App launch and session duration
  • Screen views and navigation flow
  • Feature interactions (e.g. layout changes, channel picker usage, audio/subtitle track selection)
  • Settings changes (e.g. player backend, video decoder)
  • Content type interactions (live, VOD, series) — without stream URLs or names
  • Error and retry actions

Stream URLs, stream names, and playlist content are never included in any analytics data.

b) Crash Data

When the App crashes, diagnostic information is automatically sent to Firebase Crashlytics (Google). This includes the crash stack trace, device model, OS version, and app version. This data is not linked to your identity.

c) Playback Session Diagnostics

When a playback session ends, anonymous technical data may be sent to Firebase Analytics (Google). This includes:

  • Player engine type (AVFoundation or GStreamer)
  • Video and audio codec, decoder, and resolution
  • Stream protocol and container format
  • Hardware decoding and deinterlace settings
  • Session duration, error count, and warning summaries
  • Device model, OS version, and app version

d) Performance Data

General performance metrics may be collected to identify and resolve performance issues. This data is not linked to your identity.

2. App Tracking Transparency (ATT)

On iOS and tvOS, the App requests permission through the Apple App Tracking Transparency (ATT) framework before enabling analytics. If you grant permission, Firebase Analytics may use your device's advertising identifier (IDFA) to improve analytics attribution. If you decline, analytics are still collected anonymously without any advertising identifier.

You can change your ATT choice at any time in Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.

3. Information We Do Not Collect

The App does not collect:

  • Personal information (name, email, phone number, address)
  • Location data
  • Browsing or search history outside the App
  • User content or media files
  • Stream URLs, stream names, or playlist content
  • Any data linked to your identity

4. Third-Party Services

The App uses the following third-party services:

  • Firebase Crashlytics (Google) — crash reporting
  • Firebase Analytics (Google) — anonymous usage and playback diagnostics

These services operate under Google's Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy

5. Data Storage and Retention

Crash and analytics data is processed by Google Firebase and stored on Google's servers. Retention periods are governed by Firebase's default policies. You can learn more at: https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy

6. Children's Privacy

The App does not knowingly collect any personal information from children.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
